A haunting journey: Halloween in Second Life - Abandoned Asylum and Necromancy at Deception ~ The Archive

In the immersive world of Second Life, a chillingly captivating Halloween experience unfolded within the confines of an abandoned asylum and beyond, an immersive journey shrouded in mist and mystery at 'Deception ~ The Archive'

This meticulously crafted environment drew me into its eerie embrace, evoking a sense of foreboding that melded seamlessly with the Halloween theme.

I tried, in these snapshots, to captured the haunting essence of this spectacle, offering viewers a glimpse into a meticulously designed atmosphere of an asylum and a beautifully eerie outdoor enclave, veiled in dense fog. The landscape bore witness to nature's relentless reclaiming, with overgrown foliage casting ghostly shadows against crumbling structures. Vines snaked around remnants of rituals and mystique, and the rustle of leaves added a haunting soundtrack to the desolate surroundings.

Cracked pathways led explorers through twisted corridors of trees, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers against the fog-laden sky, an invite to all daring souls to embark on a virtual exploration.

Delve into the haunting misty atmosphere and be transported into this eerie world, where mist-draped woods, strange goings-on and a decaying asylum resided. 

I hope you enjoy my memories of  an immersive journey through a Halloween experience in Second Life, lookingforward to next years virtual exploration of the spine-chilling offerings at 'Deception'.

My memories of a summer in 'The Shambles'

Brought to (second) life by the talented Tolla Crisp. 

'The Shambles' returned for the summer with beautiful vistas, relaxing corners to meet up with friends, lovely walks and a fun beach ... all in all a perfect place to forget the woes of both worlds and just be immersed in english summer beauty.

The 'real life' Shambles, in York dates back to the 14th century, a narrow, cobbled street in the city originally known for its many butcher shops. One of the most popular tourist destinations in York, it is often cited as one of the most picturesque streets in the world, which is easy to see with it's timber buildings and old-world ambience that has been preserved in large parts.

Tolla beautifully re-imagined the world that once was and extended the vibe into a wider village setting, with beautiful woodland walks along a river, a camping spot and even a beach setting. The absolute fun part was, of course, the mega high Bungee Jump Tower.

It is gone for now, but fingers crossed, it will be back at some point in the future...maybe even for Halloween.

My memories of SL20B ~ Happy Birthday SL

The theme for the Birthday celebrations this year was 'Our Fantastic Future' , these are some pics of the five main areas of the festivities; the main welcome area with access to the Time Capsule Display, The Mandala Stage, The Arboretum, The Ouroboros Stage and, of course, Linden Bear Island.

Thank you for 20 wonderful years

My memories of the fabulous Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy (BBB) exhibit at SL20B

The theme for the Birthday celebrations this year was 'Our Fantastic Future' and the BBB exhibit wonderfully captured this...it was such fun exploring the futuristic yet charming exhibit and taking the shuttle up to the Space Station was just a blast :)

It was an experience to remember and I am pleased to have captured my memories in these photographs. Hope you enjoy looking back as well.

Thoughtfully and beautifully designed and I cannot thank everyone at the BBB enough for bringing this experience into our Second Life and give us a glimpse what our future could bring ... extremely well done, Ladies & Gents, extremely well done! x

Visiting 'Winter Daydreams' in Second Life

A beautiful and tranquil Winter Destination ~ it was perfect for long walks through a gorgous glittering winter world ... time for reflection, relaxing with friends or exploring on your ice skates and enjoying being immersed and surrounded by a wintery wonderland, it was a truly magical experience.

Winterset Hollow in Second Life

My memories of a truly magical place in Secondlife ~ Winterset Hollow ~ 

Inspired by a vintage swedish winter village, brought to (second) life by the talented Tolla Crisp and Terry Fotherington. 

We were treated to an immersive and inspirational landscape, perfect for long walks and forgetting everything for a while and just 'being in the moment'.

There was a wonderful Ice Rink and Sled rides for the more avtive travellers, those in a more relaxed mode could take a Zip line going all the way up to a little snack-stop restaurant on an overlook platform with a stunning view over the landcape...walking for hours through the forests and fields, finding little dotted around homes and making friends with the many friendly animals finally returning to the cozy 'main street' with welcoming food establishments to warm your feet and your soul.

Absolutely beautiful!

Winterset Hollow is gone for now, hoping it will return once again next season x

Visiting Winter Wonderland at Bellisseria Fairground in Secondlife (2022)

Presented by Bellisseria Bike, Drive & Scoot for the occassion of their 4th annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Dance Party!

A tranquil winter wonderland with many photogenic spots, perfect to spend time relaxing and enjoying the frosy magic of winter ... with some lovely spots for ice skating and dancing, not forgetting the lovely Dance Party at the Winter Ballroom.

Happy Holidays to the creators team and well done for bringing a little more magic to SL. It was such fun!

Visiting ' Holiday Magic' in Secondlife

A perfect Winter Holiday destination with lots of activities and places to relax and enjoy the season; a fun zip-line providing a fantastic view, skating and dancing the night (and day) away on the romantic ice rink, taking walks through a magically illuminated world and cosy up in a carriage enjoying all the photgenic spots the location has to offer; followed by a stylish dinner.

Halloween in Second Life ~ A medley for 2022

A little musical Photo album to collect some memories of my favourite places I visited during the halloween season ~ Lots of fun was had and it was so easy to loose myself in the spooky surroundings, exploring and getting tangled up with the ghostly goings-on.

The region is open all year with different events being hosted throughout, it;s a great place to relax or go for a little stroll to unwind.

The theme of the region is a fan based tribute and virtual experience for all Deceptioners, in memory & dedication to the TV series "Deception"

Featuring The Arborteum, The SL Community Gallery, The Steamworks, The Gift Area, which displayed the 'Tapestry of Time'; walking you through the happenings, events and achievements of the past 19 years, The Vernian Rotunda and the Welcome Area ... it was a huge, vibrant event, so much to see and interact with; it sure was fun and took all the time of the event running, to explore :)

Visiting 'Tis the Season ~ Winter Wonderland at Moochie in Second Life

'Tis the Season ~ Winter Wonderland at Moochie

It's always a magical experience to visit Moochie in Second Life, whatever the season ... the Winter Wonderland is simply enchanting. Walk through the twinkling forest, snuggle up in one of the many somewhat secret nook sand crannies, enjoy a hot chocolate by the camp fire with friends after having a jolly good go at sledging or ice skating across the rather sizeable frozen lake or grab a reindeer led sled and explore the Wonderland in style. A fun festive market is set up by the lake with lots of produce, festive gifts and treats to choose from. Relax at the lakeside restaurant and take in the seasonal atmosphere with some fine food.

Don't forget to grab the free postcards to send out or keep as a souvenir ... it'll be another year before the magic will return.

I collected some photo memories and created a musical slideshow as a little souvenir.
