My memories of a summer in 'The Shambles'

Brought to (second) life by the talented Tolla Crisp. 

'The Shambles' returned for the summer with beautiful vistas, relaxing corners to meet up with friends, lovely walks and a fun beach ... all in all a perfect place to forget the woes of both worlds and just be immersed in english summer beauty.

The 'real life' Shambles, in York dates back to the 14th century, a narrow, cobbled street in the city originally known for its many butcher shops. One of the most popular tourist destinations in York, it is often cited as one of the most picturesque streets in the world, which is easy to see with it's timber buildings and old-world ambience that has been preserved in large parts.

Tolla beautifully re-imagined the world that once was and extended the vibe into a wider village setting, with beautiful woodland walks along a river, a camping spot and even a beach setting. The absolute fun part was, of course, the mega high Bungee Jump Tower.

It is gone for now, but fingers crossed, it will be back at some point in the future...maybe even for Halloween.

My memories of SL20B ~ Happy Birthday SL

The theme for the Birthday celebrations this year was 'Our Fantastic Future' , these are some pics of the five main areas of the festivities; the main welcome area with access to the Time Capsule Display, The Mandala Stage, The Arboretum, The Ouroboros Stage and, of course, Linden Bear Island.

Thank you for 20 wonderful years

My memories of the fabulous Bellisserian Bureau of Bureaucracy (BBB) exhibit at SL20B

The theme for the Birthday celebrations this year was 'Our Fantastic Future' and the BBB exhibit wonderfully captured this...it was such fun exploring the futuristic yet charming exhibit and taking the shuttle up to the Space Station was just a blast :)

It was an experience to remember and I am pleased to have captured my memories in these photographs. Hope you enjoy looking back as well.

Thoughtfully and beautifully designed and I cannot thank everyone at the BBB enough for bringing this experience into our Second Life and give us a glimpse what our future could bring ... extremely well done, Ladies & Gents, extremely well done! x

Visiting Les Salines ~ A Wild West Town in Second Life

My memories of a wild and romantic Wild West Town in Secondlife ~ Les Salines ~

The Outer Garden in Second Life

Visiting the beautifully styled and tranquil 'Outer Garden' in Secondlife.

A destination filled with romance, peace, etheral beauty, lights and flowers.

Somewhere to loose yourself and be at peace. Incredibly stunning.

Visiting 'Winter Daydreams' in Second Life

 ~ Winter Daydreams ~

A beautiful and tranquil Winter Destination ~ it was perfect for long walks through a gorgous glittering winter world ... time for reflection, relaxing with friends or exploring on your ice skates and enjoying being immersed and surrounded by a wintery wonderland, it was a truly magical experience.

Winterset Hollow in Second Life

My memories of a truly magical place in Secondlife ~ Winterset Hollow ~ 

Inspired by a vintage swedish winter village, brought to (second) life by the talented Tolla Crisp and Terry Fotherington. 

We were treated to an immersive and inspirational landscape, perfect for long walks and forgetting everything for a while and just 'being in the moment'.

There was a wonderful Ice Rink and Sled rides for the more avtive travellers, those in a more relaxed mode could take a Zip line going all the way up to a little snack-stop restaurant on an overlook platform with a stunning view over the landcape...walking for hours through the forests and fields, finding little dotted around homes and making friends with the many friendly animals finally returning to the cozy 'main street' with welcoming food establishments to warm your feet and your soul.

Absolutely beautiful!

Winterset Hollow is gone for now, hoping it will return once again next season x
